RALEIGH, N.C. — Getting a coffee fix near North Carolina State University got a little harder Friday.
The Hillsborough Street Starbucks closed its door after eight years. The corporate office decided to shut down the store arlier this summer because the rent was increasing.
Some of the workers petitioned to save the shop. But the company went through with its plans.
In the next two years, Starbucks plans to open 15 new shops in the Triangle area.
