Durham Police Make Arrest In Cold Case

DURHAM, N.C. — Investigators in Durham say they have solved a four-year-old murder case.

Durham police charged Carl Brown Jr., 23, with the murder and robbery of Marshall Rivers.

Rivers, 72, was found shot to death on a path near N.C. 55 and Riddle Road on June 5, 2000. he was riding his bike when he was slain.

Brown is currently serving time at the Polk Youth Center in Butner for breaking into cars.
