HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — An Orange County man faces first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of an off-duty sheriff's deputy.

A grand jury indicted Devin Rigsbee on Monday.

Investigators say Rigsbee, 19, stabbed Hertford County Deputy Thomas Lewis to death after an argument at a stoplight in May.

Rigsbee's brother, Phillip, faces charges as an accessory. Investigators say he helped his brother hide evidence.
