WILSON, N.C. — A tractor trailer heading north on Interstate 95 crossed the median and flipped over near Highway 264 in Wilson County Tuesday night, forcing state troopers to divert southbound traffic.
The accident happened about 9:30 p.m. just outside Wilson.
The cab separated from the trailer as the vehicle rolled over.
The driver was taken by helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. His condition was not immediately known.
No one else was injured.
Southbound traffic was diverted to an exit and then back onto the interstate while authorities worked to clear the wreck. All lanes of I-95 are open again to traffic.
The Highway Patrol said troopers did not believe the truck was hauling any hazardous materials
