WARRENTON, N.C. — The plan to fight a nuisance weed on Lake Gaston is gaining momentum.
Warren County commissioners moved forward Friday on a draft for a new service-tax district. It would help pay for chemicals to fight Hydrilla.
Northampton already passed a service tax. But commissioners will not fund it until all five counties surrounding the lake come on board.
Warren County has not set a public-hearing date yet.
