RALEIGH, N.C. — Two Raleigh City Council members had big victories Tuesday night in their bid for the state senate.
Neal Hunt easily beat Sen. John Carrington in the
Republican primary.
Hunt has the seat wrapped up because he does not face an opponent in November.
Meanwhile, Hunt's council colleague, Democrat Janet Cowell, received 49 percent of the votes
to beat three other candidates.
She will face Republican Mark Bradrick in November.
