Wake Reassignment Lawsuit Dismissed

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Court of Appeals has dismissed a reassignment lawsuit in Wake County as moot or irrelevant.

Jack and Cynthia Sullivan sued to get their special-needs son into a year-round school after he was denied a spot in the lottery system two years in a row.

Their son, John, has since been selected through a random process.

The Wake County School System's attorney filed a motion to have the case considered moot.

The court's opinion appears to be related to old arguments in the case.
