CARY, N.C. — Cary police arrested two brothers early Monday morning and charged them with having "weapons of mass destruction."
Police say 16-year-old Michael Hutchinson and his 18-year-old brother, Brian, of Raleigh made homemade explosives. Authorities said they used bottles, foil and a household cleaner.
The teens were discovered trying to light the materials behind a store on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary.
Investigators say there is no indication the boys were trying to hurt anyone.
