Wilson Police Investigate Alleged Kidnapping, Rape

WILSON, N.C. — A retired Highway Patrolman is accused of kidnapping and rape.
Cecil Mercer appeared in court Friday morning. He is in jail with bond.
Wilson police arrested him at his home Thursday.
Police say the alleged rape happened at the home and involved someone Mercer knew.
