RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff's Office is crediting an observant delivery truck driver in leading them to three men suspected of stealing rims and tires from a Wendell car dealership Wednesday morning.

Around 6 a.m., a truck driver called to report that four black men in a navy blue van were stealing rims and tires from Leith Auto Park East on Rolesville Road.

Deputies discovered that 20 tires and rims worth estimated $12,497 had been stolen from the cars.

Acting on information received about similar larcenies, deputies traced the van to 3109 Alfreda Court in Wendell.

While at the residence, another vehicle drove by pulling a trailer, officials said. That vehicle was stopped for a minor traffic violation and 19 of the 20 stolen rims were recovered from the trailer.

Anthony Lee Rainey, 36, of Wake Forest, Dorsey Issac Perry, 48, of Wendell, and Emerson Terry Keel, 50, of Wendell are each charged with felony larceny and felony possession.

The men are being held on secured bonds in the Wake County Jail.

Deputies are also investigating related property crimes.
