City Can Proceed With Foreclosure Against Durham Woman

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — The city of Durham can proceed with foreclosure proceedings against a delinquent homeowner.

Mar-lynda Bodison owes the city thousands in mortgage payments and taxes. She went about eight years without making payments on a low-interest city loan.

In April, the City Council voted to foreclose on the Canal Street home. Bodison tried to fight the foreclosure in court Monday, but a judge ruled against her.

The city plans to put the house up for auction as early as August.
