Tuscarora Tribe Hires Big-Name Lawyer To Help Fight For Recognition

Posted Updated

ELM CITY, N.C. — A group of local Native Americans is hiring a big time Native American lawyer in their fight for federal recognition.

Three Tuscarora Indians set up camp earlier this year outside of Elm City in Wilson County.

They want the land for a Tuscaroran reservation, but that takes money. The group is expected to hire lawyer Tom Fredericks to help their cause.
