Highway 59 Reopens in Hope Mills After Fuel Spill

Highway 59 in Cumberland County is back open Thursday after a tractor-trailer accident.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Highway 59 in Cumberland County ireopened Thursday after a tractor-trailer accident.

The accident happened at around 3:15 a.m. near Chickenfoot Road and Marracco Drive.

Investigators said the truck lost its fuel tank and fuel spilled on the road.

Crews had to shut down the highway to contain the spill. There were no reports of any injuries.

The roadway was reopened more than three hours after the accident.
