DURHAM, N.C. — A Duke University Medical Center employee has been upgraded to fair condition a day after being run over by a Duke Transit bus.

The incident happened at 7:19 a m. Tuesday across from parking deck 1 near the Duke South clinics at Trent Drive at Erwin Road.

Duke University police Jacqueline Walker, 40, slipped as she was exiting the bus, then ended up under it, with the bus running over her legs and left arm.

The bus driver, Henry McNair, told police he did not see Walker fall.
