Woman in Fair Condition After Shooting

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are trying to determine whether a shooting Friday night is connected to a possible home invasion.

Authorities would not release the victim’s name or circumstances surrounding the shooting but said a woman was taken to WakeMed, where she was listed in fair condition Friday evening.

It happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Bashford Road near Hillsborough Street, police said.

A witness at the scene told WRAL that a couple inside an apartment said that someone knocked on the door, gave a name and then fired a weapon. Raleigh police, however, have not confirmed the witness’s account.

Police are still trying to get a description of the assailant
