DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police need help solving one of the city's most gruesome murders.
Two months ago, Darla Corichi's body was found on railroad tracks off Ellis Road. Corichi was a known prostitute.
"The attack happened at another location," Durham police investigator Art Holland said. "She was brought here, then repeatedly stabbed more than 70 times. They hoped a train would run over her to hide the real cause of death."
Corichi's body was found before a train came.
Police believe plenty of people know what happened but are too scared to come forward.
