LOUISBURG, N.C. — More than 200 parents showed up at Louisburg Elementary School Wednesday evening to get a first look at a proposed reassignment plan.
The plan would move almost 1,000 students starting next fall.
Franklin County school officials say their hands are tied by a federal desegregation order, which makes reassignment mandatory.
There is no decision on the plan yet. A public hearing is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday night at Louisburg Elementary.
