DOT To Temporarily Close Lane Of U.S. 70 In Wayne County

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation will temporarily close westbound U.S. 70 in Goldsboro at the new U.S. 117 Bypass bridge on Tuesday, April 27, and Thursday, April 29. The closures will be in 30-minute intervals, from 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Also, on Monday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 4, eastbound U.S. 70 at the new U.S. 117 Bypass bridge will be closed in 30-minute intervals from 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.

The closures are necessary as part of the construction of the U.S. 117 Bypass.

Motorists are reminded to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
