NASH COUNTY, N.C. — A driver was ejected from his vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Nash County.
Russell Murphy, 38, was driving his 1999 white Yukon on northbound Interstate 95 around mile marker 141, just north of Rocky Mount when authorities said his left rear tire blew out. The vehicle then sideswiped a tractor-trailer that was in the right lane.
According to the state Highway Patrol, the vehicle skidded for a while after the impact, and Murphy was ejected out of the Yukon.
Murphy is listed in serious condition at Nash General Hopsital.
