WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A Wayne County teen is accused of asking two friends to kill her parents.

Authorities say 16-year-old Heather Johnson stole a gun from a home on April 12 and later asked two of her friends to use the firearm to kill her parents. Sheriff officials arrested and charged Johnson with two counts of solicitation to commit murder.

Investigators said the two people she solicited to commit the crime have cooperated with detectives. The firearm has not been recovered.

Johnson is being held on $80,000 secured bond.
