WF-Rolesville Principal Suspended After DWI Arrest

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake Forest-Rolesville High School Principal Andre Smith has been suspended after his April 2 arrest on a DWI charge.

Smith is scheduled to appear in court May 7 at 9 a.m.

The Wake County Public School System suspended Smith without pay effective Tuesday. He is scheduled to return to work May 10.

The action came after the school system's confidential review of the charge against Smith.

Smith, 48, lives in Raleigh. He was hired by the Wake County Public School System in May 1994 as an assistant principal before being appointed principal at Wake Forest-Rolesville in July 1997.
