Investigators say Nancy Anderson stole huge amounts of cash from the Sam's Club on Harrison Road in less than two years. Cary police launched a seven-month investigation after they found that $28,000 was unaccounted. That figure later grew to six figures.
According to court documents, Anderson took nearly $130,000 early in 2002. She allegedly took more than $173,000 in the middle of the year and $156,000 near the end of 2002.
Investigators say Anderson embezzled a total of $800,000 before she was arrested last September.
Authorities are trying to figure out what Anderson did with the money. She faces six felony embezzlement charges -- each for more than $100,000. She is currently out on bond.
