RALEIGH, N.C. — The struggling economy is taking a toll in Wake County.
That is apparent from the latest bankruptcy numbers.
Filings skyrocketed in March -- up nearly 44 percent from the same time last year.
The increase hits at a time when filings were slowing or dropping.
The bulk of the filings were personal bankruptcies.
