Clayton Police Officers Back At Work After Shooting

Posted Updated

CLAYTON, N.C. — Two Clayton police officers are back on the job two months after shooting a man.

Manuel Pena was shot several times in the shoulder in February. At the time, officers were looking for a man who escaped his probation officer.

When Pena heard the officers, he went outside with a shotgun. They fired after reportedly telling Pena to drop his weapon.

The district attorney reviewed the case and decided the officers acted within the law.
