RALEIGH, N.C. — Two former aides to former state Agriculture Commmissioner Meg Scott Phipps are serving out their prison sentences in Georgia.
According to the
Federal Bureau of Prisons
, Mike Blanton and Bobby McLamb are both in a federal prison in Atlanta.
Blanton, who pleaded in September 2003 to lying to a federal grand jury, will serve a year in prison.
McLamb, who pleaded guilty in March 2003 to fraud, conspiracy and exortion counts, will serve up to 16 months in prison.
The aides took part in a campaign finance scandal that forced Phipps to step down from office.
