JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — Mary Alice Turner, the mother of children who died in a well-publicized Onslow County mobile home, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

She received a suspended sentence of 12-to-16 months and five years of supervised probation.

Turner also will have to pay $1,350.15 to the victims. The amount is a combined figure involving all the victims.

Turner will continue any mental heath programs. The judge remitted supervision fees and court room costs, as well.

Turner is now out of jail.
