RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested two people Thursday who they say were involved in two bank robberies this week.

William Clinard Shore, 29, of Clayton, was arrested Thursday afternoon at a motel on New Bern Avenue following a robbery at a Bank of America Branch at 321 Oberlin Road in Cameron Village.

Police later arrested Bobby Edward Shaw, 33, of Raleigh, at a home in Wendell.

Investigators say Shores robbed the Bank of America, as well as a Capital Boulevard PNC Bank on Wednesday and that Shaw drove the getaway car.

The robber in both cases was described as being a white man wearing a hat, sunglasses and dark clothing and having a scruffy beard.

Police said a Crime Stoppers tip resulting from media coverage was instrumental in identifying Shore as a suspect.

Further details weren't immediately available Thursday evening.
