Phipps To Return To Court For Sentencing On State Charges

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Former state Agriculture Commissioner Meg Scott Phipps is supposed to return to a Wake County courtroon next week, but no one seems to know where she is now.

On Tuesday, a federal judge in Greenville sentenced Phipps to four years in prison for her campaign finance scandal. Another judge will sentence her next Friday on state perjury charges.

Phipps was transferred from the Pitt County Jail Thursday, but U.S. Marshals will not disclose where she has been moved.

Her attorney told WRAL Friday that he does not know where his client is.
