HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. — Detectives in the Halifax County town of Weldon have returned three rings found on the banks of the Roanoke River.
Two wedding bands and a ring with a Catholic girls school insignia on it were found by two men fishing on the river.
Detectives say the school helped locate the Philadelphia family and returned the rings to the daughter of the deceased owners.
Investigators still do not know how the rings turned up on the river bank.
