RALEIGH, N.C. — There are more charges in connection with an alleged dogfighting ring in Wilson.
Police charged Michael Garris and his sister, Jamie, with cruelty to animals.
Investigators say the two were involved in a dogfighting ring that was busted up earlier in February in Wilson County.
Police found 13 emaciated dogs at a farmhouse near Sims as well as a shallow grave with five dogs.
