Knightdale, N.C. — A Knightdale bar at the center of a drunken driving lawsuit has shut down.
In March, Deputy Walter Martin stopped to help James Warren, who was passed out on the side of the road.
Authorities said Samuel Morris, a customer at the Knightdale Ale House hit the deputy's car, killing Warren and injuring Martin.
Martin and Warren's wife, Susan, filed a negligence lawsuit, claiming the bar consistently over-serves customers.
The bar, originally called Highbeams, is now closed.
