RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University's former diving coach still may be deported for not disclosing his criminal record when he applied for United States citizenship years ago.
In January, a federal judge ruled John Candler could stay in the United States.
The government had until Thursday to appeal. A motion was filed to reopen the case this week.
Candler resigned from his job in December after details of a 1966 child molestation conviction became public.
