Fayetteville Mother Appears In Court On Manslaughter, Child Abuse Charges

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville woman whose young son diedafter being left in a car on a 90-degree day appeared in court Monday.

Natasha Edwards-Pratt appeared in court for the first time for involuntary manslaughter and felony child abuse.

Edwards-Pratt was charged Friday in the death of2-year-old Kenneth Pratt. The boy died Wednesday and his twosiblings still struggle for life at Cape Fear Valley MedicalCenter.

Four-month-old Nataliya Pratt is still in critical condition and 1-year-old Jaquon Pratt has improved to seriouscondition.

Police say the children were left in a car at the home, but theydo not know for how long. The high temperature in Fayetteville onWednesday was 95 degrees.
