Jim Graham Released From Hospital

RALEIGH — After a week in the hospital, former North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner Jim Graham is back home.

Graham, 80, was being treated for pneumonia at Rex Hospital. He was released on Wednesday.

Last week, the man known across the state as the "Sod Father" said he had been having some health problems, but that this was more serious than usual.

Graham decided last year not to seek re-election to the officehe had held for 36 years, making him the longest-serving stateagriculture commissioner in the nation.
