Two Murdered in Separate Northampton County Robberies

SEABOARD, NC — Northampton County officials are investigating its second deadly robbery within 24 hours.

Investigators say a man was shot and killed during a robbery at the Smith-America convenience store on Highway 186 in Seaboard around 12:45 a.m. Friday.

Authorities have no suspects yet and have not released the victim's name.

TheNorthampton County Sheriff's Officehas made three arrests in a deadly robbery Thursday afternoon.

One adult and two teens have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Carolyn Watson, 44.

Watson was an employee at First Citizens Bank on Highway 158 in Conway. Investigators say she was shot in the neck during the robbery around 3:30 p.m. She died while being transported to a nearby hospital.

Cody Hill, 17, of Northampton County and Toby Gary, 24, of Murfreesboro are being held without bond. A 15-year-old is also charged and being detained in a juvenile facility.

Investigators say more arrests may be pending in that case.
