FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville's Crown Coliseum is working hard to become more fan friendly and reduce its deficit.
The Crown has been operating in the red since it opened in 1997.
In a unique partnership, national promoter SFX Entertainment is now operating the entertainment complex.
SFX has brought in its own management to increase revenue and increase the number of big names to perform in Fayetteville.
"It doesn't mean we are going to get every big name or replace Raleigh, but it does mean we'll be looking at the Elton Johns and Rod Stewarts and other acts for all parts of the community."
SFX has landed Rod Stewart. Tickets go on sale Saturday. A lottery system will be used so fans will not have to stand in line.
