RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County commissioners will honor a firefighter Monday, who died in the line of service.
In July, 31-year-old Todd Blanchard responded to a call about a burning tree struck by lightning. As the Knightdale firefighter tried to put the fire out, a part of the tree fell and killed him.
Blanchard had two children and was set to marry his fiancee, Allison Miller, later this year.
