New Car Dealership's Site Plan Not In Compliance

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — The owner of a new car dealership has until the end of the month to fix several problems or face serious fines.

Durham city officials say the new Mark Jacobson Toyota dealership on Chapel Hill Boulevard does not comply with the approved site plan.

A required tree buffer between the dealership and a nearby neighborhood was cut down.

Also, officials say that utility poles are too tall and in the wrong places.

After the deadline, the dealership could be fined up to $300 a day.
