UNC Police Seek Help In Catching Fraud Suspect

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill police are asking the public for help lin ocating a suspect in connection with a case of theft and fraud.

The crime was committed in March, and a three-month investigation has yielded few clues as to the suspect's whereabouts.

UNC police said warrants are pending for the arrest of 28-year-old Isaac Lamont Barbee, who has been charged with financial transaction card theft and fraud.

According to investigators, a UNC student's credit card number was stolen and used to make Internet purchases.

Barbee, an African-American man, is described as 5-feet-6, with brown eyes and black hair. His last known address was in Chapel Hill, but police believe he may live in the Durham area.
