RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was arrested Monday morning in connection with the shooting death of another man Friday, authorities said.

Eric Raymond "Lil E" Chambers, 22, of 904 Ujamaa Dr., is charged with murder in connection with the death of 21-year-old Shamonte Miguel Pair, authorities said.

Pair's body was found on the front porch of 1510 Joe Louis Ave. Friday morning. Police said he had been involved in a shootout several hours earlier at 1615 Malta Ave. and had fled the area on foot after crashing a car into a tree.

During the night, he walked to the house on Joe Louis Avenue, collapsed and died from wounds suffered in the shootout, police said.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force received a tip Sunday that Chambers was staying with his girlfriend in a residence on Ujamaa Drive. Marshals arrested him without incident Monday morning.

Chambers is a known member of the Bloods gang, authorities said.
