RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Supreme Court upheld a ruling Friday that would prevent a family from suing a school over the death of their son.
Back in 1998, 17-year-old Max Draughon collapsed during football practice at Triton High. He later died.
His family filed a wrongful death suit against four school system employees.
The appeals court threw out that suit. On Friday, the state's high court allowed that ruling to stand.
