RALEIGH, N.C. — Time Warner Cable called it a mistake, but the company has now said it won't change a setting that changed the default channel when it's cable boxes are turned on
The company recently set all boxes to automatically turn on to News 14 Carolina. News 14 is a Time Warner product, but officials claimed the move wasn't a marketing ploy.
After initially saying engineers would change the boxes back to a default of whatever channel the viewer had last watched, the company announced Friday that it will let customers make the decision.
