Cary Police Investigate String Of Armed Robberies

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — Cary investigators are asking for the public's help in solving five armed robberies that have occurred within the past few weeks.

The robberies occurred at a variety of businesses, including a Homewood Suites hotel, Quality Mart convenience store and a Burger King restaurant.

“We definitely want to get these folks off the streets before someone does get hurt,” said Cary police Capt. David Wulff.

The plea for assistance came a day after police in Raleigh said they were investigating seven armed robberies there since March -- two of which occurred this week.

"We're working with the Raleigh Police Department and talking about what the similarities are," Wulff said. "And any information they have, they're sharing with us, and so on."

Both police departments are offering rewards for information that leads to the capture and conviction of the assailants. Physical descriptions were not immediately available Wednesday evening, but police ask anyone with information to contact them.

“Somebody knows who's doing this," Wulff said. "There's two people out there committing robberies, and they have not kept that information to themselves. Someone has talked.”
