Construction Worker Killed In Durham Accident Identified

DURHAM, N.C. — A construction worker killed Friday afternoon near a Durham worksite has been identified.

According to Durham police, Terry Williams, 28, was standing in the roadway at

Red Oak Ave. and Lane St.

when a sprayer truck started to back up around 1:45 p.m. The truck was equipped with audible warning signals, which were working, according to investigators.

Williams was looking in the other direction and apparently did not see the truck, said investigators. The truck struck him and then ran over him. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that no charges will be filed in the accident.
