RALEIGH, N.C. — Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries is adding three additional locations in the Triangle.

The burger franchise plans to open two restaurants in Cary and another in Knightdale before the end of the year. It operates existing restaurants in Raleigh’s North Hills and in Durham.

The Five Guys franchises in the Triangle are owned by Mike Ruffer.

The Knightdale restaurant will open at the new Shoppes at Midway Plantation along U.S. 64.

The Cary locations will be at 712 Southwest Maynard Road and the new Stone Creek Village.

The Five Guys chain was launched in 1986 in Arlington, Va. Founders Jerry and Janie Murrell named the restaurants after their five sons.
