GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — The state Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that a pigeon shoot in Granville County can stay open and the owner cannot be sued for animal cruelty.
John Malloy sued after the state tried to shut down his bi-annual pigeon shoot, claiming it was animal cruelty.
The event had been cancelled for the past few years until Tuesday's ruling.
The court of appeals ruled the state's animal abuse laws are too vague to apply to the pigeon shoot.
