RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation will temporarily close Geer Street in Durham Thursday and Friday from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
During the closing, motorists should use the following signed detour route:
The closing is necessary to set girders for the new U.S. 70 bridge over Geer Street.
Police officers will be at the Hardee Street, East Club Boulevard and Midland Terrace Road intersections to direct traffic.
The DOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert, and obey the posted speed limit in the work zone.
