GARNER, N.C. — A Garner man charged with felony assault on a police officer for allegedly spitting on him faces more charges.
Police were arresting 18-year-old Lawrence Wilson Tuesday when he allegedly spit on them.
Garner police said they found $11,000 worth of stolen property in Wilson's home. Investigators were able to trace some of the stolen property to recent burglaries in Garner.
Spitting is considered assault because under North Carolina law, it is malicious to throw any bodily fluid on a law officer.
