Four Telemarketing Companies Fined For Violating State's Do-Not-Call Registry

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four telemarketing companies are paying the price for ignoring North Carolina's Do-Not-Call Registry.

Attorney General Roy Cooper said the companies -- Warrior Custom Golf of Irvine, Calif.; Communication Concepts of Hermitage, Tenn.; Consumer Credit Counseling Foundation of Orlando, Fla.; and Fax.com of Alizo Viejo, Calif. -- have agreed to pay the state a total of $66,000.

The companies also agreed to abide by the state's law.

Nearly 2 million numbers have been added to the state's Do-Not-Call Registry since it began in July.
