Posted Updated

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A man accused of leading Wake Forest police on a high speed chase is behind bars.

Investigators said Karim Swain robbed a McDonald's on Nov. 30 before leading police on a chase.

That chase ended in Raleigh when the suspect crashed into a utility pole on Sunnybrook Road near WakeMed and then ran away.

The crash knocked out power to about 5,000 Progress Energy customers.

A woman also faces charges in this case.
